Intern with Wasted Ink Zine Distro!
WIZD is always looking for folks who want to contribute to the distro through the internship program – a customizable, 6-month experience, where your interests and WIZD’s needs are the guide.
Learn how WIZD designs, prints, and distributes zines internationally – and gives workshops, runs the annual PHX Zine Fest, and maintains an extensive zine library. There’s a wide array of projects and tasks to be done! We highly value skill-sharing and designed the internship to be a time where you learn and hone new skills that you can take with you after the internship ends. - Hours vary depending on internship type (Ranges from 10-18 hours a month)
- Quarterly WIZD team meetings & workshops

Perks:
- Learning and Development (optional): Interns have the opportunity to attend multiple workshops and training sessions about the zine library and archiving, Riso printing & Letterpress, and learn informally about zine production, independent publishing, and running a business.
- Paid Opportunities: If an intern refers someone to schedule a paid workshop, they are paid a Referral Bonus of 20% of the profit if the workshop occurs.
- Quarterly Intern Gatherings: Interns share space, update each other, make art, and learn together.
- Free Zine Printing: During the internship period, Wasted Ink Publishing Charissa provides up to 25 free copies of 4 zine titles (100 zines total) for the intern to distribute through WIZD and/or elsewhere.
- Sell Zines in the Distro with Full Zine Payouts: Interns are invited to sell their zines in the distro during their internship and WIZD will pay 100% of the retail price. After the internship, interns are welcome (and encouraged) to continue distributing zines at a consignment rate.
- Table at Phx Zine Fest: Sell your zines, stickers, pins, etc., at the WIZD intern half table! No tabline fee and full zine payouts apply.
- Reference For Life: Upon successful completion of the internship, Charissa will be available to provide a reference for jobs, rental or higher education applications, etc. that speaks to the intern’s excellence. We love to support former interns thriving!
