Dead Relatives Magazine ( @deadrelativesmag ) was created by Héctor Zaldívar. This Indígena-owned and operated non-profit magazine has been around online since 2020 with printed media in circulation since 2023. Héctor has been dedicated to empowering young activists over the years. Dead Relatives’ roots trace back to Protest Aid, a group that helped counsel young protesters and help deliver needed supplies. “This magazine was designed to preserve a space for creatives to educate, tell stories, & fundraise for change”. In-depth interviews with bands, underground art scenes, mental health, nuclear colonialism, & Indigenous advocacy are just some of things highlighted in recent Dead Relatives issues. Today, they print and fundraise for other artists & zine-makers under 'Dead Relatives Press'.
Themes include: Punk, DIY, Indigenous advocacy, art, storytelling, culture, community, activism. Find Dead Relatives Magazine at the fest on Saturday and follow them here: Website
