AIWS is an alias used by Lithuanian zine maker Lex. Through their work Lex explores what it means to live in the world that doesn't accommodate your needs. Lex is white, trans, disabled and autistic. Most their work is about disability, autism, ableism, mental health and neurodiversity. They also often talk about queerness and their dog, a rescue beagle who was rescued from the lab and survived animal experiments. "Most of my zines are about my own experiences as a disabled and neurodivergent person in a neurotypical world that often does not accommodate my needs. Through my work I want to tell other autistic, disabled and/or chronically ill folks that their struggles are being seen and maybe someone can relate to my experiences too and feel less alone. I also want to create a better world and through my zines I often give a lot of tips or suggestions on how to create more inclusive or accessible environment.
All of my zines are diy and done all by myself." Follow AIWS: Website
