Hello! I'm an independent multimedia artist who has been making zines since 2019. Most of my zines illustrate my experience as a queer individual through comics, characters, and silly doodles. My name is Mads and I'm a gender nonconforming, neurodivergent artist. My zines are an outlet to discuss my experience as a queer person.
Every year I create a sketchbook zine compiled of that year's sketches and scribbled notes. My sketches are like little diary entries to me, so each zine acts as a summary of my life that year. My first zine was my Blue Horse Zine. The initial run had coffee dyed pages and a handmade cover. This zine features horsedoglike creatures in an illuminated manuscript style. My Queer Failure Zine discusses 'failure' as an essential part of us, and that 'success' is usually defined by those outside of queer identities. I also publish my webcomic, Atomic Gothic, at atomicgothic.com, about a queer nuclear clean up organization in 1959 Atomic America, which I plan to publish in a zine format!
