I am a film photographer based in Mesa, AZ. My work centers on capturing the ugliness and beauty in everyday life. While the locations of my photography range from areas such as San Francisco to Mexico City, the majority of my work is in the southwest region as that is where my home has been for most of my life. My work has extended to creating Desert Drip as it’s own entity/platform to release zines of my own work as well as zines containing the work of other artists as well as music releases. I have created a variety of zines that primarily concentrate on content such as work by multiple illustrators as well as zines I have created of my own work (35mm film photography). The zines I have released for other artists/individuals include: Jazz Torrez (Phoenix, AZ), Mike Carrasco (Las Cruces, NM), Skipp White (El Paso, TX), and Julio Pizana (El Paso, TX). Their work can be found online as well as in various zines such as the ones I have released (Fruit Salad Vol.1, Lenguaje Humano, and Numb). The zines based on my photography are primarily centered on street photography and the raw energy that is evoked by finding myself in whatever area I may be in whether it’s the busy downtown area of my hometown of El Paso, TX to desolate farmland areas in New Mexico to chaotic city/urban life in Mexico City or San Francisco. The photography is meant to be a candid view of that specific place and time regardless if it's a bleak dilapidated building or an individual on a subway station.
