Josephine Jaye is a game designer and audio producer in Phoenix. She’s created two tabletop roleplaying games:
  • The Magic Earth is a rules-lite game about magical characters grappling with their powers in a modern day world. All the while, they have to content with power-hungry antagonists who want to use the players’ magic for their own ends.
  • The Last Space Battle is a retro science fantasy game inspired by Star Wars, Dune, and early editions of Dungeons and Dragons. Journey to the stars and discover wonders in an ancient galaxy.
These are standalone games to be played with a small group of friends. All you need to play is the zine, a paper and a pencil, and a few dice. I like coming up with rule systems that encourage collaboration and involve figuring out how to persevere after failure. My game The Magic Earth explicitly positions a (fictional?) authoritarian fascist government as the primary antagonist for the player characters.

I also create short adventure outlines and maps meant to be a resource for the Game Master running a game. "
